MatchBreaker
Play as hero "Earong", wreaking havoc over lovely rhyming pairs, in this mouse-based word game.
Puzzles involve moving 1 or 2 letters in a set of words, so that each word either rhymes or doesn't rhyme. Goals vary across levels.
What's new in Version 1.1 (released 2021-09-11)
Thanks to everyone who played through the game-jam submission ("Version 1") and provided constructive criticism! Based on that feedback - and a few nagging issues I couldn't fix in time - here's Version 1.1. This version doesn't include new levels, but makes significant improvements to the engine, graphics, and sound. So it might feel a little new. I mean, the letters have eyes.
- Added hint button for chapters 2-5. Click the lightbulb to reset the puzzle and get a hint at which letters to move. There's no cost or penalty to use it. Use or skip the hint depending on what's fun for you.
- Updated game dictionary so that it acts more like a 'typical' word-game dictionary. In particular, words that are ONLY proper nouns (like names or acronyms) are LESS LIKELY to be considered a "valid word".
- Added settings menu (volume sliders; full-screen toggle)
- Improved graphics (added stage-like background; letter gradient; letters have eyes; tear emitters are more realistic; emitters don't clip out as early; end-of-level transition is slower)
- Improved sounds (added another in-game song, wood-block clacking sounds when letters collide, happy/sad end-of-level sounds, end-of-level theme music)
- Improved readability of the completed words, by tidying up letters when the goal is reached.
- Improved touchscreen support (single-touch only, not multi-touch)
- Shortened Chapter 1
- The "Enter" key can often be used to advance or dismiss single-button dialogs. The "Escape" key can often back out of them.
- Bonus easter egg for those who read release notes: Press "Spacebar" key to shake the shelves. Press "T" key to tidy them.

Nice 10/10
It's been two months, but I've finally finished the video about Brackeys Jam best games and your game is one of them:)
Here is the video:
It is premiering November 6th at 13:30 UTC and you are very welcome to join the premiere "live"!Very cool to hear. Thanks for taking the time to review games and give developers feedback! This is a great thing for the community.
You're welcome!
I am very surprised this is your first game and especially that you didn't know anything about Unity before.
I am sure you can do much more:)
Hi! I am playing and streaming top-ranked games today/tomorrow (starting September 14th at 15:00 UTC and likely for 4-5 hours minimum): https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-6/topic/1644084/streaming-top-fun-ranked-games-on-s...
I initially planned to play top-50 games in "fun" category, but since there is such a big overlap between "fun" and "game design" top ranked games, I have enough time to fit all top-50 games in "game design" of devs who join the stream.
I'll eventually play your game anyway, but it will be nice to have you on stream:) If you plan to join the stream, please let me know here and I will wait for you to actually join before playing your game (then let me know when you join in the stream chat). If you can't make it to this stream, but still would like to see your game being played live - let me know as well and I'll postpone your game till the next stream.
Keep in mind though that I am typically quite honest and if you join the stream be prepared to hear what I actually think about the game, which might quite disagree with the rankings.
